(Stochastic Methods & their Applications to Communications...)
Stochastic Methods & their Applications to Communications presents a valuable approach to the modelling, synthesis and numerical simulation of random processes with applications in communications and related fields. The authors provide a detailed account of random processes from an engineering point of view and illustrate the concepts with examples taken from the communications area. The discussions mainly focus on the analysis and synthesis of Markov models of random processes as applied to modelling such phenomena as interference and fading in communications. Encompassing both theory and practice, this original text provides a unified approach to the analysis and generation of continuous, impulsive and mixed random processes based on the Fokker-Planck equation for Markov processes. Presents the cumulated analysis of Markov processes Offers a SDE (Stochastic Differential Equations) approach to the generation of random processes with specified characteristics Includes the modelling of communication channels and interfer ences using SDE Features new results and techniques for the of solution of the generalized Fokker-Planck equation Essential reading for researchers, engineers, and graduate and upper year undergraduate students in the field of communications, signal processing, control, physics and other areas of science, this reference will have wide ranging appeal.

(This book offers a practical guide on how to use and appl...)
This book offers a practical guide on how to use and apply channel models for system evaluation In this book, the authors focus on modeling and simulation of multiple antennas channels, including multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication channels, and the impact of such models on channel estimation and system performance. Both narrowband and wideband models are addressed. Furthermore, the book covers topics related to modeling of MIMO channel, their numerical simulation, estimation and prediction, as well as applications to receive diversity, capacity and space-time coding techniques.

Nowadays, depending on the purpose, the geographical region, the particular carrier, and many other factors, the electromagnetic spectrum assigned to wireless networks is controlled by governmental agencies. Increasing demands on the radio spectrum have driven wireless engineers to rethink approaches by which devices should access this natural, and arguably scarce, resource. Cognitive Radio has arisen as a new wireless communication paradigm aimed at solving the spectrum underutilization problem. In this book, the authors explore a novel variety of techniques aimed to find unused portions of the electromagnetic spectrum and take advantage of them in an opportunistic manner.

(This small book mainly is not dedicated to the people who...)
This small book mainly is not dedicated to the people who can consider themselves as "pure" scientists and therefore are not interested in practical applications (beside they can also find in this book some interesting topics for research). The authors expect that their results might be useful for people whose interests lies in the area of real time applications, mainly in signal processing and communication fields, but not limited to them. First part of the book is completely dedicated to some basics of chaos considering it as a stochastic process and to the statistical description of chaos by means of cumulants and cumulant functions. The latter is not "traditional" in the common literature. The rest of the material is devoted to different aspects of the nonlinear filtering algorithms of chaos in presence of additive noise (Gaussian and non-Gausian). Some aspects of the material of this part are strongly related to the nonliear filtering of "weak" chaos, i.e to the scenarios, when the signal/noise ratio is less (or much less) than one. Such kind of scenarios can take place in bioelectronics, voice processing, etc.
