Professional audio engineer Vann Weller, whose nickname is Zaarc, has immersed himself in a number of creative fields, including rock music, video, and, in the 1990s, fiction writing. A 1977 graduate of Ithaca College’s cinema studies program, Weller forged a career for himself as an audio specialist for broadcast television and other media. He was an early user of interactive networks and has extensive experience working with the sound systems for rock groups; in short, he is a fixture on the local “underground” scene in his native southern New Jersey and Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He is a founder and owner of an audio production and engineering firm First Word Productions. He used to be a manager and operator of an audio services firm Modular Sound in1977-1987. He has worked on sound for local rock bands in southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania including The Gang and Donnamatrix, and for television programs and corporate video projects. Weller worked on digital audio postproduction for the independent feature film The Game, directed by Stefan Avalos in 1994 and for W.P.I. (foreign language audiotext), Princeton, New Jersey. He designed, wired, and operated eight-track recording studio for recreational use of soldiers at Fort Dix Music and Theater Department, New Jersey. Since 1997 he is an audio operator at the Disney-American Broadcasting Company Television Group. And since 2013 Weller is an executive at Doorpost Productions of Trenton.
Vann Weller has authored two novels: urge2merge in 1995 and The Thirteenth Book in 2000. He lives in Trenton, New Jersey.
