Professor and director of the Moscow Bauman School (HigherTechnical School), Moscow’s elitist technical educational establishment. A prominent representative of the technical intelligentsia in pre-1917 Russia. Condemned the Bolshevik take-over.
Left a valuable work, The Post-War Prospects of Russian Industry, Kharkov, 1919. The second edition was published in Moscow in 1922. It became the basis of future 5-year plans, and dominated Soviet economic thought for decades.
