DANILEVSKIY, Vasiliy was born on January 13, 1852 in Khar’kov. Son of a craftsman.
1874 graduate Medical Faculty, Khar’kov University.
While still a student worked at Chair of Physiology, doing research on the biochemistry of tetanus, et cetera 1874 presented famous paper on "The Influence of the Cerebrum on Respiration and Circulation". 1876 expanded this paper into doctor’s thesis, proving that moderate or weak eleetr stimulation of the cerebral cortex creates impulses not in the subcortical centers but in the cells of the cortex itself, which exerts a regulatory influence on respiration and circulation.
Worked in the laboratories of K. Ludwig and J. d’Arsonval, where he did research on the effect of anoxemia and asphyxia on the nervous system. 1904-1905 demonstrated possibility of restoring the vagal stimulus by perfusion of the coronary vessels of the heart 24 hours or more after clinical death. 1876 performed first Russian experiments on recording eleetr phenomena in the cerebrum of a dog.
1891 published full results of these experiments, in which he demonstrated that perception of sensation during stimulation of the receptor is objectively recorded in the form of a negative fluctuation of current in cortex of cerebral hemispheres. 1879 by adjusting the strength and frequency of excitation of peripheral ending of a dog’s vagus nerve, he demonstrated cumulative effect of inhibition of cardiac activity. Was a pioneer of physiological research on hypnosis in animals and humans.
1881 interpreted hypnotism as the inhibition of the ’’voluntary” reflexes supported by the active state of the forebrain. Explained the mechanism of ’’nervous asthma" and dyspnea in a series of experiments with frogs. Founder, Ukraine Institute of Labor.
Helped to set up industry production of endocrine drugs. From 1927 founder and iife-director, AU-Ukraine Institute of Endocrinology and Organotherapy. 1880-1906 professor of Physiology, Khar’kov Veterinary Institute.
1883-1909 and 1917-1926 professor, khar’kov University. 1917-1926 professor, Khar'kov Medical Institute. 1885-1896 wrote 25 papers on hemosporidia.
Wrote numerous works on blood parasites in birds, notably plasmodia, which he was the first to dccribe. 1888 published large monograph on comparative blood parasitology. Was first to demonstrate that hemosporidia living on erythrocytes are widespread among host vertebrates.
This provided proof of A. Lavcran’s hypothesis that parasites in human erythrocytes arc the real agents of malaria. His research on blood parasites on birds yielded a model on the basis of which R. Ross proved that mosquitoes arc the carriers of malaria. Birds infected with plasmodia proved suitable for research on malaria and its chemotherapy.
1910, despite the opposition of the Minister of Health, founded the Khar'kov Women's Sled Institute, of which he was director and also head Chair of Physiology; wrote 217 works, including a three-volume physiology textbook.
There is no conclusive logical argument for the existence of God. His existence is continuously debated.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
