Senior intern and dissector, Centr Mental Patients’ Admission Building,Moscow. 1909 defended doctor’s thesis and began to read lectures on the pathological anatomy of psychoses at Moscow Postgraduate Medical Training Courses. From 1910 assistant professor, Preobrazhenskiy Psychiatric Hospital, Moscow.
From 1916 acting head, Chair of Psychiatry, Moscow Women's Higher Courses. 1917-1932 head Chair of Psychiatry, 2nd Moscow State University. 1932-1952 head, Chair of Psychiatry, 2nd Moscow Medical Institute (now Pirogov Medical Institute).
1945-1952 foundcr-director, 1952-1959 sci director, Institute of Psychiatry, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Medical Sciences, which later came under the control of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Ministry of Health. Trained numerous psychiatrists and pioneered Soviet child psychiatry’. 1950-1952 criticized for ’’underestimating” the importance of Pavlov’s theory.
