1929-1932 professor, Moscow Academy (from 1930 Moscow Steel Institute). From 1933 professor, Moscow Higher Technical College. 1939-1942 Presidium member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences and acad secretary of its Department of Technical Sciences.
1947-1953 Presidium member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Specialized in physical processes involved in electr arc. Developed apparatus for arc welding.
Designed solid-block regulator-transformer for arc welding, widely used in industry.
