Education
Androsov's early education was at Smolensk Gymnasium. In 1824 Vasiliy Petrovich graduated from Moscow University with a gold medal.
Career
In 1824 Vasiliy Petrovich became the special assignments official at the Moscow Military General Government. In 1822 he tried to write poetry but soon switched to scientific publication. He was giving the course of geography and statistic at Moscow Agricultural School.
Starting from 1829 Vasiliy Petrovich became the Secretary of the Moscow Committee of Sorting Russian wool and an editor of the magazine for sheep farmers.
In 1832 he wrote his main work - "The statistical note about Moscow" in which he discussed the life in the capital, brought to the attention the disadvantages in the social security system, charity and education in the manufactory development. The book caused contentious debates around it. In 1835 he became an editor and a publisher of the "Moscovsky Nablyudatel" magazine. In 1838 however Vasiliy Petrovich gave the publishing rights to N.S. Stepanov.
Vasiliy Petrovic collected information about the history of civilization in Russia in his last years but died of consumption and didn't finish his work.
