From 1794 to 1796 Vasily Grigorievich translated Marevich's play from Polish to Russian. In 1801 he resigned and moved to Saint Petersburg. In 1802 served in the Military Board. In 1810 he got certificate at Vilensky University.
In 1828 Vasily Grigorievich retired and rarely published anything.

He promoted Polish literature. Vasily Grigorievich translated and published Polish literature articles, Tadeusz Czacki's stories and novels of other Polish writers.
