Commissioned Second lieutenant United States Army, 1951, advanced through grades to lieutenant colonel, 1966. Retired, 1979; administrator Hampton (Virginia) University, 1980—1996. Senior professor history Tidewater Virginia Center, St. Leo University Florida, 1980—2005.

Religion
