Career
Graduated from the
Petersburg Forestry Institute. From the 1880s, actively involved in revolutionary activity. In the 1900s, gave substantial financial support to the Social Democratic Party.
Several times arrested and exiled, several stays abroad as a political emigre. Being a Bolshevik sympathizer, joined the Cadet Party, 1906. Elected member of the State Council (upper chamber) before the revolution.
Banker in the important Don Agricultural Bank, 1906-1917, continuing at the same time his secret revolutionary activity. During the Civil War, carried out several important missions for Lenin. Member of the Committee of Aid to the Hungry 1919-1923.
Inspector of the All-Russia Cooperative Bank, 1923-1930.
