In professional practice nearly forty years, he was formerly associated in partnership with the late D. Knickerbocker Boyd and Francis Gugert under the firm name of Boyd, Abel & Gugert. After withdrawing from the firm in 1936, Mr. Abel carried on his work alone during the rest of his life.
He was formerly a member of the Technical Board of the Philadelphia Housing Authority, and in a later period served as Consulting Architect to the Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company of Philadelphia.
