DROBOT’KO, Viktor was born in 885 in village Degtyari, now Chernigov Oblast.
1913 graduate Medical Faculty, Kiev University.
1914-1925 physician in Romny, now Poltava Oblast. 1925-1931 assistant professor, Kiev Bacteriological Institute. From 1931 senior associate, then head, Department of Medical Microbiology, Zabolotnyy Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Kiev (now Institute of Microbiology, Ukraine Academy of Sciences).
From 1944 until death director, Institute of Microbiology, Ukraine Academy of Sciences and head of its Department of Pathogenic Microorganisms. Obtained new vegetable antibioticum imanin. Developed method of differential staining of microorganisms and synthetic culture media.
Designed original filter for working with bacteriophages. Member, ed council, journal Antibiotiki: (1948-1958) bd chairman, Ukraine Social of Microbiologists, Epidemiologists and Infectionists. Executive cd, Mikrobiologicheskiy zhurnal.
Wrote over 120 works.
