Viktor Nikolaevich Vakidin

Viktor Nikolaevich Vakidin was born on August 16, 1911 in Voronezh, Russian Federation.

Education

He studied at the Leningrad Higher Art and Technical Institute (now Saint Petersburg Art and Industry Academy) (1929-1930), the Moscow Polygraphic Institute (now Moscow State University of Printing Arts) (1930), the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts (1930-1935).

Career

Viktor Nikolaevich worked in the field of easel drawing, scenography, monumental art. In the 1920s, Voronezh's drawings were exhibited at the exhibitions of amateur artists in Voronezh: "Voronezh. Landscape with the Pokrovsky Cathedral", "Landscape. Voronezh."

Since the mid-1930s, together with V.A. Favorsky and A.D. Goncharov participated in theatrical and decorative and monumental works. Performed illustrations for the magazines "Druzhnye rebyata", "Zateynik", "Pioneer" (1937-1940), "Around the World" (1947), "Iskatel" (1961-1976).

He has issued more than 70 books for Detgiz, the publishing house "Soviet writer", Goslitizdat and others.
