Vishwanath Anant Altekar

Background

Vishwanath Altekar was born on March 4, 1925 in Satara, that is located in the Satara District of Maharashtra state of India.

Education

In 1946 Altekar Vishwanath graduated from Banaras Hindu University and obtained bachelor’s degree with first-class honours. Graduating from Colorado School of Mines in the U.SA in 1946, he got M.S. and in ten years at the same university he obtained D. Sc.

Career

Altekar Vishwanath started his career as a professor of chemical technology at Bombay University, then he became a technical adviser to Maharashtra Minerals Corporation, later to Alox Chemicals and Nakippex Traders.

• Vishwanath wrote a lot of articles on the topic of extraction metallurgy.
