Vitaly Butyrin took up photography at age fifteen. He has exhibited his work in more than 300 international shows and art photography salons in 45 countries, as well as in several one-person shows. Butyrin's photographs have been published in various photography magazines, and in the press more than 500 times.
Considered one of the world's leading science fiction photographers, Butyrin makes montages and collages that frequently consist of ten or more pieces.
His honorary memberships include KFK, Kaunas (1973); IFKP, Ploen, BRD (1972); NATRON, Maglaj, Yugoslavia (1974); Landerneau, France (1978); 1974, Warsaw, Poland (1977); and Virton, Belgium.
