Il’in, Vladimir was born on August 16, 1891 in near Kiev.


Graduated from Kiev University, 1913.


Emigrated, 1919. Stayed at Constantinople, 1920-1922. Moved to Berlin, 1922-1925. Moved to France. Lecturer at the St. Sergius Theological Institute, 1925-1940.

Professor of church music at the Russian Musical Academy in Paris. Well-known contributor to Russian emigre literary magazines.
