In 1975, after graduating from high school Vladimir got a job as a technician in the State Library named after V.I. Lenin. A year later, it was time to serve in the army, and he was summoned to the Taman division. A bit later he was transferred to Germany, where he mastered a specific military specialty - a console: he made control panels with program control for tank ranges.
After the demobilization, he did not know what to do for a long time. He worked as a radio engineer at the Research Institute of Radio Engineering Equipment (1978-1980), a correspondent for the newspaper "Architecture", released secretary of the Komsomol Committee SGPTU-64 (1980-1981). He was the head of the Palace of Culture sector of the MIIT (1981), the head of the sector of the DK named after the Third International (1981-1982), the senior methodologist of the Railway Workers Central Palace of Culture (1982-1986). He took an active part in youth forums, clubs, traveled a lot around the country, participated in the 1985 Festival of Youth and Students.
