In 1920 Vladimir studied at First grade school.
Since 1928 he studied at Kiev Artillery School in Kiev, Kyyivs'ka Oblast', Ukraine.
In 1920 after graduation from school he worked as a carpenter.
In 1924 he joined the army.
In May 1942, he went to the front. June 18, 1942 he was appointed as the commander of the 1215th anti-tank artillery regiment of the 1st fighter brigade, the 1st fighter division.
Since July 1943, he commanded the 28th separate anti-tank artillery brigade. Under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Kosachev, the brigade successfully crossed the Dnieper and, as part of the 38th Army, fought to expand the Lutezh bridgehead.
Between November 3 and 6, during the liberation of Kiev, by the soldiers of the 28th Brigade, up to 2 companies of infantry, 5 tanks, 12 machine guns were destroyed, 11 bunkers, 2 observation posts, and a mortar battery were suppressed.
In the postwar years, Kosachev continued his service in the army, had the rank of Colonel. Since 1954 was sent to reserve.
Vladimir Kosachev lived in the city of Lida, Grodno region, worked as a director of the industrial complex. He died on May 25, 1975.
