He was born on May 10, 1921 in the village Babenkovo now Izyumsky district of the Kharkov region (Ukraine) in the family of a peasant. Ukrainian.

Member of the Great Patriotic War from October 1943. The navigator of the squadron of the 235th Assault Aviation Regiment (264th Assault Air Division, 5th Assault Aviation Corps, 5th Air Army, 2nd Ukrainian Front), Lieutenant Grigory Denisenko, by September 1944, carried out 118 sorties, destroyed on the ground and in the air 8 aircraft, burned several dozen tanks, more than 100 vehicles of the enemy.
He fought on the 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. Starting his career in combat operations as an ordinary pilot, he grew to the navigator of the squadron of the 235th Assault aviation Prosecutor's Regiment of the 5th Air Army soon. Already two months after the first flight, Junior Lieutenant Denisenko was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
In 1944, two more orders of the Red Banner were added to this award.
In the award presentation, the regimental commander described the young officer as follows: "During the fighting, he acquired a rich combat experience, mastered the technique of piloting in perfection. His sight is accurate and courage knows no bounds. As a squadron navigator, he is always ahead, in the most difficult weather conditions, he does the most important tasks perfectly.
In December 1943, Lieutenant Denisenko received an order to destroy enemy tanks and vehicles in the Radomishl region. Despite the strong barrage of fire, a group of Elves navigator Denisenko made its way to the goal and brought down its entire bomb load to the enemy. As a result of two attacks, they destroyed 5 tanks, 15 vehicles and up to 70 Nazi soldiers and officers.
Grigory Kirillovich flew to combat missions in all weather conditions.
In just one and a half years of the war, the pilot G.K. Denisenko made 197 fights. He participated in 26 air battles, in which he shot down 2 enemy fighters and one transport aircraft. On the ground, they destroyed 20 enemy planes, 47 tanks, 122 motor vehicles, 3 railway echelons, 4 artillery batteries, 13 mortars, 8 fuel and ammunition depots, and about 600 enemy soldiers and officers.
After the war, he continued his service in the USSR Air Force. In 1953, he graduated from the courses of improvement of the command staff.
Since 1957, Colonel G.K. Denisenko - in reserve, and then retired. Lived in the city of Gomel (Belarus). Prior to retirement, he worked as a senior engineer at the “Electroapparatura” plant.
He died on March 20, 2011. He was buried at the Randovsky cemetery in Gomel.
