1913 arrested for revol work and banished from Saint St. Petersburg. 1913-1914 illegal revol work in Riga and Revel (now Tallin). 1914 rearrested and banished from Estland Province.
Barred from 59 cities of the Russian Empire. From 1915 in Russian Army. After 1917 February Revol conducted Bolshevik propaganda among soldiers in the field
Member, company, regt, div and corps comt. Summer 1917 arrested for the third time and discharged from the army as a political incorrigible. From September 1917 instructor, then Presidium member, and secretary, Red Guards Staff, Vyborg Rayon of Petrograd.
25 October 1917 led Red Guard squads of his rayon during Bolshevik coup. From January 1918 helped found Red Army in Petrograd. 1918-1921 head, Polit Department, 8th Army.

From 1930 taught and did research at Marxism courses of Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Central Executive Committee. At Communist Academy, Sverdlovsk University, Advanced Tabling Institute for Teachers and Executive Personal and at Institute of History, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences.
