Company-founder, Union of the Russian People. After schism in this organisation headed Archangel Michael Union. Deputy. State Duma of 2nd—4th convocations.
During World War 1 advocated “strong rule and stern measures” to bring the war to “a successful conclusion”. Accomplice in assassination of Rasputin. After 1917 February Revol opposed Provisional Government and advocated restoration of monarchy.
October 1917 headed counterrevol conspiracy in Petrograd, which was detected in early November. 16 January 1918 sentenced to four years’ forced labor in public trial by Petrograd Revol Tribunal. Amnestied under 1 May 1918 Petrograd Soviet decree, amnestying political prisoners.
Went to Southern Russia and collaborated with White forces. Published newspaper “Blagovest” in Rostov-on-Don.
