After graduate specialized in physiology. From 1930 head, Aeromed Section, Sanitary Research Institute. From 1935 head, Centr Psychophysiological Laboratory, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Civil Air Fleet.
From 1939 head, Chair of Aeromed, 2nd Moscow Medical Institute and Centr Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training. 1934-1935 supervised the development of a physical training program for pilots aimed at improving resistance to disturbances of the vestibular apparatus and to g-load during flight. Was an adherent of L. A. Orbeli’s views on physiological evolution.
His research provided valuable material for the subsequent development of Soviet space medical. Wrote over 100 works.
