Vladimir Vazhinsky graduated from secondary school in the Alekseyevka settlement of the Voronezh region in 1948. Also, he was a student of the Rossoshan Teachers' Institute in 1950. In 1955 he studied at the history department of the history and philology faculty of the Voronezh State University. Vladimir also had the postgraduate study of the Krupskaya N.K. Moscow Provincial Pedagogical Institute.
Vladimir was the teacher of history in Alekseevka from 1955 to 1959, the senior teacher, the associate professor of history of the USSR of the Kemerovo state pedagogical institute (1962-1966), the associate professor (1966-1972), the head (1974-1981) of the Department of history of the USSR, the pro-rector for research (1981- 1986) of the Lipetsk State Pedagogical Institute. Professor of the Department of History of the CPSU (1986-1991), head of the Department of the History of the Fatherland (1991-2005) in Lipetsk Polytechnic Institute (now Lipetsk State Technical University).
