In 1948 Vladimir Yakovlev moved with his parents to the city of Kalach, Voronezh region. After graduating from Zabrodna primary school (1958) he lived in Karelia, since 1964 - in the village of Gubskaya in the Krasnodar Territory.
Vladimir Yakovlev graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of the Kuban State University (1972).
Vladimir Yakovlev is the author of a series of works performed in the 1990s: "Zaonezhye", "Kizhi", "White-Stone Russia", as well as portraits, landscapes, still lifes, nudes. Since 1972, he lives in the village of Yablonovsky, Takhtamukaysky District, Republic of Adygea. He is represented in The Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after F. A. Kovalenko.
