Party work in Voronezh Province, Tula, Serpukhov and Petrograd. Several times arrested. After 1917 February Revol member, Vasiliy Ostrov Rayon Party Committee.
Member, Petrograd Soviet. After 1917 October Revol chairman, Central Executive Committee of Soviets of Rumanian Front, Odessa Oblast and Black Sea Fleet. Member, Odessa Party Committee.
1918 chairman, Revol Committee directing struggle against Haydemaks and White Forces. Then chairman, Odessa Council of People's Commissar. 1918 also government and Party work in Moscow.
19 19 Party work in the Ukraine. Then secretary, Syr-Dar’ya Oblast Party Committee and member, Central Committee, Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Turkestan. 1922 deleg at 11th Party Congress.
1923-1949 teaching work.
