In 1959, he graduated from Siberian Technological Institute in Krasnoyarsk, the Leningrad Conservatory in 1967.
In 1967-1970, he was a concertmeister of the Voronezh Musical Theater (Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theater). In 1969-1974, he was the Executive Secretary of the Voronezh branch of the Union of Composers. In 1979-1990 he was the chief editor of the department of Leningrad publishing house "Muzyca". Since the late 1990's he has been the head of Counts Vilhegorsky’s Music Salon, participates in concerts as a singer and concertmeister.
He participated in the productions: "Brest Fortress" by Kirill Vladimirovich Molchanov, "Mazepa", "The Queen of Spades" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, "The Troubadour" by Giuseppe Verdi, "Gypsy Baron" by Johann Strauss, "The Mississippi Flower" by Jerome Kern and others.
