In 1972 Vladimir Nikolaevich graduated from the Faculty of History of Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute (now Voronezh State Pedagogical University).
In 1992 Vladimir Nikolaevich became a Doctor of Historical Sciences and in 1998 an Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
In 1972-1975 Vladimir Nikolaevich worked as a secondary school teacher in the Rostov and Tambov regions (Russian Federation). Since 1975, he worked as a lecturer, associate professor, professor, and in 1993 he became the head of the department of Russian history of modern and recent times of the Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute (now Voronezh State Pedagogical University). His research interests include the study of the agrarian history of Russia in the 2nd half of the XIX - early XX centuries.
Vladimir Nikolaevich is the author of over 100 works, including books: Peasant movement in the Voronezh province in the 60-70s. XIX century (socio-psychological aspects), The class struggle in the village of the Central Black Earth provinces of post-reform Russia.
