Career
Employed at the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries in Split. From 1976 to 1981 as an expert associate working on developing measurement methods and applying new measuring devices in oceanographic research; since 1981, he founded the Institute's computer system by 1995. Engaged in the development of an oceanographic database and the development and implementation of oceanographic measurement systems and the study of dynamic occurrences in the sea, with emphasis on the circulation of water masses. During 1995, moved to the Institute's scientific department when continued with developing of oceanographic instrumentation and on-line measuring systems; quality assurance, analysis, processing, exchange and archiving of oceanographic data, developing oceanographic databases and implementation of geographic information systems (GIS) in marine research. Head of the Croatian Marine Reference Center from 2012 to 2016. Head of Marine Physics Laboratory since 2016.
In the period from 1983 to 1990, as an external associate, he has been teaching at the "Education Center for Fishery Experts from Developing Countries" in Split since 1998 as an external associate lecturer at the Marine Studies at the University of Split; since 2001 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences; since 2005 at the postgraduate study of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the FESB Faculty in Split; since 2006 at the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Study of Oceanology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Zagreb, and since 2007 at the Ph.D. at the Applied Marine Science course jointly organized by the Institute and the University of Split and Dubrovnik.
