He was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning his bachelor’s degree in physics in 1933, and his doctorate from New York University in 1948.
For several years Mr. Parsegian worked as a research director for various firms until joining the Atomic Energy Commission in 1950. Beginning in 1954, however, Vozcan Parsegian joined the faculty of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he remained for more than two decades.
In 1965 he saw the publication of his first book, Industrial Management in the Atomic Age, which was followed by The Cybernetic World in 1972. He was also coauthor of Introduction to Natural Science. Born in Armenia, Mr. Parsegian was dedicated to the preservation of Armenian cultural heritage; in 1980 he became director of the Armenian Architecture Archive Project, an enterprise which resulted in the publication of seven volumes on the subject and a CD-ROM product, which was completed just prior to his death.
