Vyacheslav Alekseevich graduated from the literary and linguistic department of the Eastern Pedagogical Institute (Kazan, 1929).
Vyacheslav Alekseevich worked in orphanages and schools for street children (Kazan, 1922-1930). He was a researcher (1930-1932), director (1932-1936) of the Northern Regional Museum in Arkhangelsk. Vyacheslav Alekseevich was a director of the Voronezh Literary Museum named after I.S. Nikitina (1936-1937). Since 1937, at the Department of Literature of the History and Philology Faculty of the Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute (since 1960 - head). The beginning of literary activity dates back to 1930.
The main research areas: Nenets and Russian (mainly Voronezh) folklore, the history of Russian literature of the XIX century, the connection of classic writers with oral folk art. Particular attention was paid to the study of literary life in the Voronezh region (late XVIII - early XX century).
Author of many articles, brochures, and several monographs dedicated to Alexei Vasilievich Koltsov and Ivan Savich Nikitin.
