Vladimir graduated from the Philosophy Department of the Institute of Red Professors.
In 1931-1934 he was the Head of the History of Philosophy and Aesthetics Department at the Saratov State University.
In 1935 he was illegally repressed and sentenced to 5 years of strict isolation.
Since the autumn of 1939 till the autumn of 1941 Vladimir worked as a teacher at the Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute and took part in the life of the Voronezh writers' organization.
In Voronezh he made a decision to study literature. In 1942-1949 Vladimir worked as a teacher at the Leningrad State University, in 1944-1949 – at Leningrad Theatrical Institute.
After exile he lived in Borisoglebsk (since the autumn of 1954), worked as a teacher at the local state pedagogical institute. Here began his active scientific activity.
Having moved to Leningrad in 1960, Dneprov moved to a professional literary position. He was published in the magazines "Literature Questions", "Foreign Literature", "New World", "Star", "Literary Review" and others.
Vladimir is the author of many books, including "The Problems of Realism" (Leningrad, 1960, 1961), "The features of the novel in the XXth century" (Moscow; Leningrad, 1965), "Ideas of Time and Forms of Time" (Leningrad, 1980), "From a Single Point of View" (Leningrad, 1989).
