Vyacheslav Viktorovich graduated from the Faculty of History and Philosophy of Moscow University (1896), the Music and Drama School of the Moscow Philharmonic Society in composition class (1910).
Since 1900, Vyacheslav Viktorovich was an employee of the music department of the Rumyantsev Museum, a member of the Society of lovers of natural science, anthropology and ethnography at Moscow University.
Vyacheslav Viktorovich became friends with the collector and performer of folk songs M.E. Pyatnitsky, prepared for singing to the piano 12 Russian folk songs of Bobrovsky district of the Voronezh oblst (Moscow, 1904, 1912, last edition - 1946), as well as songs in the collection “Pyatnitsky's Concerts with Peasants” (Moscow, 1914). In 1927-1929, associate professor of the Moscow Conservatory (gave the course of musical ethnography).
