Background

Riegger, Wallingford was born in 1885 in Albany, Georgia, Spr. 29. Son of Constantin and Ida (Wallingford) Riegger.

Studied cello with Robert Hausmann, Anton Hekking, also composition with Edgar Stillman-Kelley, Germany. Doctor of Music (honorary), Cincinnati Conservatory, 1925. Doctor of Music (honorary), Bard College, Annandale, New York, 1961.
