Began study of art, 1876. Pupil National Academy of Design, Professor Wilmarth and Art Students’ League. Entered studio of J. South. Hartley and followed sculpture 5 years.
Began landscape work, 1881, and received much instruction from late George Inness.
Father of Eliot Candee C. Specialty, landscapes. Exhibited at Chicago Exposition, 1893, Paris Exposition, 1900. Silver medal for picture “In Early Leaf,” Buffalo Exposition, 1901.
Inness gold medal for picture “Gloucester Harbor,” National Academy Design.
