With engineering corps Bang and Olufsen Railroad, 1906. Entered partnership with father, founder Bachrach organization and one of pioneers American portrait photography, 1910. Took over management Washington studio, later Baltimore studio, with brother expanded to chain Bachrach studios, covering most of larger cities of East and Middle West, with general office and finishing plant in Boston.
Sold interest in studios, 1925, to brother Louis F. Landscape painter since 1948.
