Educated University of Mississippi, Tulane University, university of Berlin and Heidelberg, University of Virginia, University of Michigan. Bachelor of Laws, University of Michigan, 1897. Unmarried. Cowboy and school teacher for several years in Texas.

Practiced at Dallas, Texas, 1897-1900.

Served as 1st assistant state’s attorney, Dallas Company. Lecturer, Texas-Colorado Chautauqua, summer of 1900.

Moved to New York and resumed practice, 1900.

Career

Lecturer and Republican campaign speaker. Member 63d to 65th and 67th Congresses (1913-1919 and 1921-1923), 19th New York District.
