Career

Began as country editor, later reporter in Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, Denver and Philadelphia. Joined staff of New York World, 1895. Established Daily Record, Durham, North Carolina, 1898.

With New York World and Hearst organization, 1900-1905, Saint Louis Post-Dispatch, 1905-1910, except 1907-1908 as editor The Post, Havana, Cuba.

Newspaper and magazine work, New York, 1910-1924. With Miami Herald, since 1924, editorial writer and conductor “Sidelights,” since 1925.

Writer for many years of jokes for Life Puck, Truth, et cetera Compiler of 25 Ghost Stories, 1902.
