He attended New Trier High School and Cornell University. Malnati graduated from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in 2007.
Will Malnati is originally from Chicago, Illinois. In the five years that followed, Malnati managed a handful of restaurants and nightlife establishments in Chicago and New New York In 2013, Malnati partnered with two James Beard award winning chefs Ken Oringer, Jamie Bissonnette & entrepreneur Doug Jacob and opened the New York outpost of Boston"s famed Spanish tapas restaurant "Toro" in Chelsea, New York City. In 2013, Malnati was chosen as one of Zagat"s 30 Under 30.
In 2015, he was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30. in 2016, Malnati started a media company called Will Entertainment, which produces podcasts and other digital content.
Malnati also co-founded a leadership series called The Point Series, which hosts monthly dinners and events for young influencers and leaders in fashion, entertainment, finance, sports, hospitality and public relations in New York, and has recently started its expansion into Chicago and Los Los Angeles He is an active public speaker and an advisor in several hospitality-based tech start-ups.
