Willard began his career in Boston at the age of twenty when he became a draftsman in the office of Sturgis 6 Brigham. A few years later, in 1884 Mr. Bacon began architectural practice for himself with an office at 27 Kilby Street and carried on his work until 1929 when he retired. For more than sixty years he had made his home at Winthrop, Mass., and many of his most important buildings were built there.
