Possession by Spirits. Stories of spirit possession come to us from the earliest recorded history. Modern science typically has looked on these reports as the product of ignorance and superstition. Modern science may be wrong. It may be changing its mind.

William Baldwin was born on September 4, 1939, in Los Angeles, California. He lived in Southern California until moving to Enterprise, Florida in November of 1991.
William Baldwin studied at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. He got a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1970. Then he studied at the Western University Graduate College of Theology and got a Doctorate of Medicine in 1982. Also, William Baldwin graduated from American Commonwealth University and got a Doctor of Philosophy in 1988.
William Baldwin received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1970 and he practiced dentistry for a little over a decade before his career interests took a drastic turn. Following a career in dentistry, Baldwin became a pastoral counselor and later earned a doctorate in psychology. He was a research pioneer in the field of dissociative states, including the process known as Spirit Releasement Therapy. He was a featured speaker at symposia and mental health conferences all over the world.
Baldwin wrote countless articles and several books on the subjects of Spirit Releasement Therapy and Past Life Therapy, including "Spirit Releasement Therapy: A Technique Manual" and "Healing Lost Souls," as well as textbooks and tapes for professional counselors. Spirit Releasement Therapy was based on the idea that a person lives their life on earth with the spirit of someone else - deceased - attached to him or she, and Past Life Therapy operated on the concept of reincarnation rather than spirit attachment. The purpose of these two closely-related types of therapy was to detect the underlying reason for problems that physically manifest themselves as illness, disease, or mental imbalances.
William Baldwin and his wife, Judith Baldwin, were co-directors of the Center for Human Relations, where they offered seminars, training courses, and therapy sessions. They traveled the world to lecture and present training classes. Also, Judith Baldwin co-authored the book "From My Heart to Yours: A Transformational Guide to Unlocking the Power of Love."

1999William Baldwin alleged that experiencing Spirit Releasement Therapy or Past Life Therapy can help resolve conflicts that continually arise in a person's primary relationships.
Spirit Releasement Therapy is based on the idea that a person lives their life on earth with the spirit of someone else - deceased. Historically, this condition has been labeled spirit possession. Religious history is rife with exorcisms designed to "cast out" the intruding spirit from the living person. Baldwin claims that experts in the field estimate that between 70 percent and 100 percent of the population are influenced by one or more discarnate entities at some time in their lives.
Spirit Releasement Therapy consists of six steps, the first of which is to discover and identify all. Baldwin states there is never just one - attached spirits. The second step is the differential diagnosis. Most entities fall into one of three categories, and each type requires specific dialogue, which is step three. Step four releases the entity, and again, each type requires a different release process. The fifth step is what Baldwin calls guided imagery of Light for the client. During this step, the void left by the released being is metaphorically filled. The sixth step is a program of ongoing therapy for the client; it is possible to find and release other attachments during subsequent sessions.
William Baldwin had a deep voice, a handsome face, and six-foot-five stature. He had such qualities as generosity, love, and kindness.
William Baldwin was married to Judith Baldwin. He had five children: Wendy Whitefoord, Mark Baldwin, Terri Loge, Lisa Starks, and Chuck Davis.
