After an education acquired in local schools of Northampton and in other cities, studied architecture at Columbia University.
Begin¬ning professional practice in Waterbary, Conn., in 1900, he formed a partnership with the late Walter Griggs (Griggs & Hunt) and carried on work under the firm name until 1914. A few years later Mr. Hunt moved to Torrington to open an office and continued active there until shortly before his death.
Of the various buildings Mr. Hunt designed, independently or in association with his late partner, the following are perhaps the most important; Hotel Elton at Waterbury, 1905; Hotel Endee, Bristol, Conn., 1917: John H. Cassidy Building, Watertown, 1923, and the Wetmore School in Torrington, 1918 . He also planned numerous residences in cities throughout the state.
He had been a member of the Connecticut Chapter, A. I. A. since 1908.
