William Reichard is an American editor, educator, and writer. He's published six poetry collections, most recently, The Night Horse: New and Selected Poems (Bright Horse Books, 2018).

William Reichard was born on July 15, 1963, in Mankato, Minnesota, the United States, to Walter Henry (a truck driver) and Viola (a factory worker; maiden name, Caliendo) Reichard.
Education
Reichard attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where he received a Bachelor's degree in 1986, a master's degree in 1991, and a Ph.D. in 1997.
Career
From 2001 to 2015, Reichard was a Program Director for the Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs, where he taught Writing for Social Change and Art for Social Change, two interdisciplinary, college-level seminars that focused on the intersections of art, literature, creative writing, and social justice.
William Reichard's sixth book, The Night Horse: New and Selected Poems, was published by Brighthouse Books in September 2018. Reichard is the author of five previous collections of poetry. He has published two chapbooks, As Breath in Winter (MIEL Books, 2015); and To Be Quietly Spoken (Frith Press, 2001) and edited The Evening Crowd at Kirmser’s: A Gay Life in the 1940s (Univ. of MN Press, 2001). Reichard's anthology of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, American Tensions: Literature of Identity and the Search for Social Justice, was published by New Village Press in April 2011.
