Kabrich, William Camillus was born on September 19, 1895 in Pocahontas, Virginia, United States. Son of William Sisiastel and Sarah Isolena (Wilburn) Kabrich.


Bachelor of Science, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blackburg, Virginia, 1917. Graduate Coast Artillery School, 1925, Chemical Warfare School, 1930. S.M. Entertainment, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1933.


Commissioned Second lieutenant, Coast Artillery Corps., United States Army, August 15, 1917, and advanced through the grades to brigadier general, December 4, 1942. Transferred to Chemical Warfare Service, 1929. Chief technical div., Office of Chief, C.W.S., and commanding general of Commerce.W.S. Technology Command, Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland., 1942-1945.

In charge of design of plants manufacturing chemical agents. Supervised development of smoke screen devices for large areas. Chairman of technical committee for control of research chemical warfare material for C.W.S. and National Defense Research Committee Supervised development of chemical warfare weapons, munitions, agents and protective equipment now commanding general Pine Bluff Arsenal, Arsenal, Arkansas.
