Williamson Dyer was born on the twenty-second of January, 1869 in London, United Kingdom. John Dyer was his father and Abbie Williamson was his mother. In November 1890, Williamson arrived in China. Most of his life he lived and worked in Shanghai.
He got education at Aberdeen College, (London), gymnasium of Saverne Alsace and Mulhouse (Alsace).
Williamson worked as a Vice-President of French Municipal Council (13 years consecutive service in all). Also, he served as a Honourable Secretary of Masonic Charity Fund of Northern China (13 years). Dyer worked in Fire Brigade for seven years at “Victoria” Co. No. 7, Shanghai Fire Brigade. Moreover, he served in Volunteer Corps Service for 31 years: 20 years — Light Horse, 7 years — Reserve, 4 years — Staff.
On the sixteenth of October, 1920 Ellen and Williamson got married.
