He became chief secretary of Nara Prefectural Chapter of All-Japan Federation of Labor Unions (1950) and chief of Executive Office of Nara Prefectural Chapter of General Council of Japan Trade Unions.

Yagi Kazuo elected twice to House of Representatives on the Left-Wing Socialist Party ticket (1952 and 1953).
