1914-1918 country physician and military surgeon. 1918-1921 associate, Chair of Urology, Kiev Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training. 1921-1923 assistant professor, Chair of Urology, Moscow Higher Medical School.
1923-1931 assistant to Professor R. M. Fronshteyn, then associate professor, Chair of Urology, 1st Moscow Medical Institute. From 1931 foundcr-director Urological Clinic, Moscow Oblast Clinical Institute, on the basis of which he later established a chair of urology.
Also founded Chair of Urology, Centr Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training. 1944-1950 head, Chair of Urology, Medical Institute, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Minister of Health. Specialized in X-ray diagnosis, the diagnosis of anomalies of the kidneys and ureter, the treatment of nephrolithiasis and the early diagnosis of tumors of the urogenital tract.
Was first Soviet sci to propose prophylactic examinations of workers in the aniline industry for early diagnosis of cancer of the urinary bladder. From 1950 Honorary member, Moscow Social of Urologists. Wrote over 100 works.
