1930 first work published. 1930-1937 taught Russian lit at Moscow higher educational establishments. 1937-1941 learned secretary, editorial board, “Literatumaya entsiklopediya” (Literary Encyclopedia).
1941-1952 head, Soviet Russian Literature Section, Gorky Institute of World Literature.
