Yevgeny Yakovlevich graduated from the Department of Architecture and Finishing works of Voronezh Construction Technical School (1955), and the Department of Design of printed materials of Moscow Polygraphic Institute (now Moscow State University of Printing Arts) (1966).
Yevgeny Yakovlevich Poshivalov started participating in regional, zonal, republican/national, all-Russian, all-union, foreign exhibitions in 1966. He illustrated books for the Publishing House of Central Chernozem region (1966-1990). His works primarily were made in the technique of color etching: "The city of A. Koltsov and I. Nikitin" (1984); since the beginning of the 1980s, he continues the series "Voronezh", "Landscapes of native land".
