The younger Choi has served in many church positions, including full-time missionary in the church"s of Korea Busan and of Korea Seoul missions, bishop, high councilor, and stake president He served as a counselor in presidency of the Asia North Area from 2007 to 2011. In 2011 he was appointed as an Assistant Executive Director in the church"s Temple Department.
From July 2013 to July 2015, Choi served as president of the church"s Seattle Washington Mission before beginning another term of service as a counselor in the Asia North Area in August 2015.
