After graduating from Waseda University Yoshimi Kudo was appointed professor at Toyama Higher School (1928) and then joined Nagoya University (1948). He also worked at the Kobe University. His study of Walter Pater is highly regarded. Among his works are "Short Essays of Walter Pater," "Marius, an Epicure’" and "Research on Coleridge."
